Power Plants & Plant Teachers

Power plants, refers to a group of plants that when consumed, trigger a psychedelic or entheogenic experience. Psychedelic experiences appear more cognition-shifting and hallucinogenic while entheogens have a more unknowable, ethereal quality providing opportunities of seeing deeper layers of reality and having contact with emanations, spirits, or entities no doubt a part of the unconscious collective or otherworld.

The most common synchronicity of side effects experienced across many plant teachers is notably drowsiness. This is a byproduct of our perception of the infinite dream state, spirit state, or subconscious coming into waking consciousness. The closest thing we can relate to this effect based on our everyday awareness is feeling sleepy or dreamy. Through our daily lives, distractions, contemplations, jobs, family life we can easily repress our energetic selves. Psychotropic plants operate on an energetic level and there is no hiding our energetic selves when we integrate our nature with that of a plant teacher. This is an example where people with repressed emotions, biases and beliefs that do not align with their energetic self experience “bad trips”. While struggles are unavoidable within daily life, they are also unavoidable with the use of plant teachers. Identifying our internal struggles, underlying traumas, inherited biases within ourselves is made more accessible through holotropic states including the intentional use of healing with plant teachers.
